As I listened to this powerful message, I was thinking about the many prayers I have given and listened to others give, and it seems like we often pray for an answer to earthly problems. It then occurred to me that there is probably a spiritual problem embedded somewhere in that earthly problem, but usually, we haven't discerned it. Maybe we should spend some time before praying and put some effort into figuring out what the spiritual problem actually is, so we can present that. I believe God would be pleased at that effort. I also think that being in touch with what our spiritual problems are would go a long way in solving our earthly problems.
I would love to have seen that happen; to watch as Jesus said, "I am..." But it is truly amazing that after He speaks and they fall over, they still take Him away. Such profound ignorance! It blows my mind. It seems like when that happened that they would have had fear and a realization that this is someone who is more than a man. It seems that someone should have been saying; "Maybe He is who He says He is."
And that is such an excellent point Jeff, that Jesus was and is always looking out for others. We always need Him looking out for us and we need to reach out to Him to fight for us in the battles of life!
