In John 18:37, Jesus says, "The reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth." I know that both grace and truth are important, but I struggle with the balance. It feels like we Christians tend to focus on grace,, as is offered generously by Jesus, but sometimes forget the reason he came into the world. An argument can be made that if we are to be more like Christ, truth might be even more important than grace, especially in these times when culture encourages lies and punishes truth. I believe it's true that grace has to come first so that a bond can be formed, but I also think that ultimately truth is even more important.
Good words Eric; we always have the Comforter with us and do we really need Him in this crazy world!! And when the world chooses insanity over good and turns hateful hearts full of evil towards us, it is easy to forget that their minds are truly darkened by the evil one and that they walk as blind men stumbing in the night. But they are empty and starving for spiritual food and they don't know it, and they are hurting from the pains of this life, so with the comfort we are given , we have food for their souls and life and healing for their spirits.

PS. My quote was from the NIV version.
Love this, Eric!
" Worlds hatred stems from ignorance of god and his teaching, not knowing him
It's us who need to teach, to show grace, to be Christ like"
