I believe that as Jesus has been our good shepherd, we are, in our efforts to be more like Him, called to be good shepherds as well. We are all shepherds in some way, whether we are tending our family, our friends, our pets, the animal kingdom in general, any living thing. They are all God's creatures. He created each one of them with purpose and with love and caring for them is a powerful way to express our love for God. It is comforting to think about how God cares for us, in my case - more ways than I can count, but I believe we need to share that love that He anoints us with. We need to use it to love all his creations, especially our neighbors.

I shouldn't have made it through middle school without some serious adverse effects to my life. But my Shepherd stayed by me when I was so rebellious and disobedient, giving me just enough in my heart to know that I needed to stop fighting and searching for things in the world and to be near him. He's done this time and time again throughout my life when troubles arise and especially when I try to pull away. Sometimes he even pushes me to places I never thought I'd be (Journey Church....). I cannot even worship him enough for the blessings he's brought in my life and how he has guided my as his child.

Verse 16 stands out to me, I don't understand who the "other sheep that are not of this fold" are. Was Jesus referring to the gentiles? The lost whom have not yet been found (saved)?

‭‭John 10:16 ESV‬‬

[16] And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.
